GATHERING HYMN. “All people that on earth do dwell.”
CALL TO WORSHIP
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good
ALL: God’s love is everlasting.
Come let us praise God joyfully
ALL: Let us come before the Lord to give thanks.
Most compassionate God, receive the prayers of this joint gathering offered before the throne of your majesty – “Duw cariadus, erby nein gweddiau heddiw, ac arllwys dy heddwch ar y ddaear”.
Sprinkle the waters of your lasting peace upon the earth, that the poor, the needy, hungry, orphaned and widowed may taste the fruits of your goodness.
ALL. O God, we ask you to bless, guide and teach each and every one of us to have understanding and be a herald of peace and love in all places and among all people. Now and henceforth we praise and worship your holy name. Amen.
Gracious God, who supplies us with blessings in abundance. We lift up our hearts in gratitude and give thanks. Cause us to remember the gifts we seldom notice, the bounty we take for granted, the rich possibilities you provide. For bread without scarcity, for water that is pure, for houses to live in and friends to enjoy, we give you humble thanks. For beauty and bounty, for healing and hope, for the power of your Word we lift our voices in joyful praise. Dwell with us now and for always. Amen.
Rev'd Reid ; READING 1 SAMUEL 2: Vs 1-2, 3b-8 HANNAH’S PRAYER
Then Hannah prayed and said: ‘My heart rejoices in the Lord;. for I delight in your deliverance. ‘There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. For the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. ‘The bows of the warriors are broken. Those who were hungry are hungry no more. The Lord brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts. He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap. For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world.
HYMN PSALM 23 (No 660) “THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD”
Rev'd Greenbat : PSALM 24: Vs 1-5
1. The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
– concluded by readings from Micah (Ch 6 vs 8) and Malachi (Ch 2 vs 10)
HYMN - Rev'd Reid SOLO.
Rev'd Reid; Lord God. You gather us together as one people, grateful not only for the gift of life itself but also for the many gifts of friendship, love, devotion and forgiveness that we share in common. We thank you dear God for showing us how to return our thanks by living lives of service, by genuine deeds of hospitality, by extending kindness to the stranger and by our showing of concern for each other. Help us to appreciate and respect one another. Allow us to see the full spectrum of your gifts and the marvelous diversity of your many peoples. Cause us to make You known to others in countless ways so that Your great love for us might be mirrored in our love for one another. Help us to live our lives with ever grateful and humble hearts. Bless us this day and all days without end, forever and ever. Amen.
Rev'd Greenbat : MEMORIAL PRAYER FOR LLOYDS OF BRONWYDD.
Grant perfect rest in the shadow of your divine presence and in the exalted places among the holy and pure who shine like the brightness of the skies, to the souls of the Lloyd family of Bronwydd, their ancestors and successors. We beseech you compassionate Lord, shelter their souls for evermore beneath your protective wings. May their souls be bound up in the bond of eternal life. The Lord is their inheritance, may they rest in peace. May our prayer unto you O Lord be acceptable O God in the abundance of your loving kindness, answer us in the truth of your salvation and let us say Amen
May thanksgiving last longer than just for a special day: may it be for us a way of life.
ALL ; We have been enriched in many ways with great generosity. Thanksgiving to our God!
Appreciate the good earth that is our inheritance from a loving God.
ALL We celebrate God’s goodness in the past and his provision for us.
From the God who has heard our prayers we ask for help in answering the prayers of others
ALL ; We will not forget the source of our good life or think we can keep it by hoarding it.
God, who raises mountains and stills roaring seas, dwell with us to calm and uplift.
ALL; Grant us, O God, to live in peace with all your love and with thankfulness at the heart of all we do.
