On Sunday 8th a Holy Communion Service of Remembrance was held at St Cynllo's - the church was beautifully decorated with poppies and ivy - the font decorations included as a centrepiece one of the ceramic poppies which were placed around the Tower of London at last year's WW1 commemoration, and a fascinating exhibition of newly researched information relating to the men from Llangynllo and the surrounding locale was put on display.
A very generous collection of £112.00 was given by the members and congregation, to be donated to Combat Stress.
With the church resplendent in the red colours of the Kingdom season, and the strong congregation in fine voice with 'Guide me O thou great redeemer'. 'Abide with me' and 'He who would valiant be' ringing from the ancient rafters, it was truly a service of remembrance to remember.
Many thanks to all who attended and contributed.
